Children and Young People
Service Description
At Mind of Mine, we recognise that childhood and adolescence are crucial stages of emotional, social, and psychological development. Therapy for children and young people provides a safe and supportive space where they can make sense of their feelings, experiences, and relationships. Our integrative approach draws on psychodynamic, humanistic, and evidence-based methods, carefully adapted to the age, needs, and developmental stage of each child or young person. This may include talking therapy, play-based work, or creative expression—helping them to explore and communicate in ways that feel natural and accessible. We work collaboratively to build emotional awareness, resilience, and coping strategies while addressing challenges such as anxiety, low mood, identity, family changes, school pressures, or peer relationships. Where appropriate, we also engage parents and carers, ensuring the therapeutic process supports the wider family system while keeping the young person’s voice at the centre. Through therapy, children and young people gain the tools to understand themselves better, manage difficult emotions, and develop healthier patterns for the future—laying foundations for confidence, growth, and wellbeing. We Specialise In: • Anxiety, Low Mood, and Emotional Regulation • Neurodiversity • Peer and School-Related Pressures • Family and Attachment Dynamics • Trauma and Transgenerational Trauma • Identity and Belonging • Grief, Loss, and Life Changes • Confidence, Self-Esteem, and Resilience • Expat experience We have offered these session in schools, colleges, universities, within a number of private organisations and charities.
